The meeting was called to order by President Jim McCullough at 6:30 PM.
OTHER BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Don Nelson, Bob Dunn, Terry Koehn, and Brett Lenz
MEMBERS PRESENT: Rita Orr, Em Norden, Jim Beeghly, Tomasz and Isabella Korwel, John Navara, Patrick McCormick, Dave White, and our loyal scribe for the evening, Randy Stannard
The Minutes of the February 10, 2010 Board of Directors (“BOD”) meeting were read. Bob moved with second by Brett that the Minutes be approved as read. Vote taken; Motion carried.
OLD and NEW BUSINESS:
1. Don reported on the Treasury that some members had taken advantage of the bonus offer and made deposits on their account allowing the statement, “We are solvent.”
2. Jim brought up an idea of changing the Flour Drop date to May 15, to coincide with the “International Learn to Fly Day” sponsored by EAA, AOPA, and others. There are marketing and promotional materials available from those organizations and it might be a chance to advertise our club and gain some new membership. We might also generate some donations toward the scholarship fund and somehow work out maybe giving some demonstration rides with donations to the fund. Jim will check on the FARS regarding what we could do. Bob moved with second by Don that we move the date for the flour drop to May 15 with the 16th as a rain date. Vote taken; Motion carried.
3. John Navara discussed the poker run and rules. We will likely expand the number of available airports to eight, with at least four stops needed to make a poker hand along with a card from Green Castle. We might also allow additional cards to be purchased to improve the hand. We will likely have a $10 entry fee per person, and each person in an airplane can enter. The money would be split into two or three prizes for best and worst hands. A deadline will be set for everyone to be back at GCAC to be eligible. Bob also offered to do some carvings to offer as prizes. John will finalize the rules and have them published 30 days in advance of the event.
Bob moved with second by Brett to adjourn the meeting. Vote taken; Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:52 PM.
