MINUTES OF THE APRIL 28, 2010 BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

The meeting was called to order by President Jim McCullough at 6:30 PM.

OTHER BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT:  Don Nelson, Bob Dunn, Brett Lenz, Tim Scheer, Terry Koehn, Karo Stigler

MEMBERS PRESENT:  Rita Orr, Em Norden, Jim Beeghly, Chris Lenz, Isabella & Tomasz Korwel, Patrick McCormick, Dave White, Rod & Shirley Thompson, Doug Weihe, Mark Eads

GUESTS PRESENT: Scholarship applicant Walker Olson

Karo read the Minutes of the April 21, 2010 Board of Directors meeting.  Bob Dunn moved with second by Brett Lenz that the Minutes be approved as read.  Vote taken; Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS:

1.   Don Nelson reported that the Skyhawk isn’t back yet, but it should be real soon . . . hopefully, this week.  Don also said that all the planes are here and are “working just fine”; however, the Ercoupe and Arrow will be going to Duke’s for annuals soon.

2.   Don Nelson reported that the treasury is “‘bout the same, it’s hangin’ in there.”

3.   Regarding the flour drop event scheduled for May 15, 2010, Doug Weihe presented an ad [attached to original of minutes] sponsored by his employer that’s being placed in the “Daily Iowan,” “Cedar Rapids Gazette,” and the “Iowa City Press Citizen.”  Bob Dunn said he’ll have the ad placed in the Solon, North Liberty, and Oxford newspapers.  THANK YOU DOUG AND BOB [APPLAUSE BY ALL]  Don Nelson said he has a coffee mug with our logo on it that he’ll make available to Channel 9 for use on “Mug Shots.”

4.   Jim Beeghly advised that we’re “up to 6 and counting” applications for the scholarship.

5.   Jim McCullough reported that the poker run is coming along fine.

NEW BUSINESS:

1.   New Members:  two potentials

2.   Tomasz and Isabella Korwel will be leaving the states this Friday.  We have all appreciated their friendship, the contributions they’ve made to the club, and we look forward to their return in five months.  Have a safe trip, Tomasz and Isabella!

Bob Dunn moved with second by Brett Lenz to adjourn the meeting.  Vote taken; Motion carried.  Meeting adjourned at 6:39 PM.
