In order for you to post on this blog your security level must be at least “contributor.” To post with uploaded pictures (in the manner explained in the tutorial below) you must have at least “author” status. Most of you are currently “subscribers,” which means you must first email me or one of the other web administrators and have your status increased. The way our site works, once upgraded to “author” (which most people who post will want,) you will be able to post to the website without the post being pre-screened.
So, a few loose ground rules in advance: If you are a club member and ask to have your status upgraded to “author,” we will do so. For now, I am inclined to restrict “author” status to club members, but this may not be an absolute. Please show common sense and respect in what you upload. We are a family friendly club, and posts should be consistent with this. Our site is meant to be airplane and flying related, and is not a site for trying to bring others around to one’s personal point of view in religion, politics or what have you. It is also not generally a site to sell things. However, because the Board has, for some years, expressed interest in allowing members to advertise personal flying-related items for sale (ie a David Clark headset that is not being used) I am going to try allowing a limited number of such posts.
Bottom line is that there does not appear to be any practical way to pre-screen posts, so if you see something that is objectionable, bring it to our attention. We can make posts “private” and not visible at least until discussing them with the Board. Hopefully, we will never have to do this.
