Andy Orszula, Jim Beeghly, Tim Scheer and Chris Lenz MEMBERS PRESENT: Don Nelson, Bob Dunn, Joe DeMaria, Brett Lenz , Dean Beranek, Merlin Weissheier, Larry Clore, Ryan Story, Paige and Flynn Lenz, and Mark Eads The minutes of the March 20, 2019 Board of Directors meeting were read by Chris. Randy moved with second by Jim that the minutes be accepted as read. Vote taken; Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS: 1 Treasurer's Report: Randy reported on our financial status. We are in pretty good shape. All bills are current and we have a fair balance for this time of year. That includes the insurance proceeds. 2. All airplanes are up and flying except the Arrow, which is in for its annual and the Ercoupe which is due for its annual. NEW BUSINESS: 1. We are buying the SkyBeacon for the Arrow which will satisfy the ADS-B requirement. If that goes well, we will equip the 172s as well with the same device. 2. Randy moved with second by Chris that we have a drawing for one free hour of flight time for all who come out to help Saturday with airport cleanup. 3. We need to find a scholarship candidate because the Foundation needs to donate some money to fulfill its mission. If anyone has a high school junior who is interested in flying, please have them contact the club. Randy moved with second by Chris that we adjourn. Vote taken; Motion carried. Rob is a helicopter pilot in the Waterloo National Guard medevac unit flying Blackhawk helicopters and is looking for possible fixed wing time. John is also a pilot looking for tailwheel time. The insurance adjuster offered nearly $5,800 for the building repair and we accepted. Rick is asking for a few people to begin tearing out the damage and get ready to rebuild. 4. We are still planning to participate in the Kites for Kids event in North Liberty on April 13. 5. Please don’t forget to attend the April 7 memorial event for Terry Koehn and Bill Kimble. A clean-up day is planned for March 30. Anyone available is encouraged to show up and help. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Treasurer's Report: Rick said we’ve got a little cash in the bank, our bills are current, and Don’s paid in full. THANK YOU, DON, FOR BEING SO PATIENT. 2. Airplanes: All are here and ready to check out and FLY! We had two planes go up this week and are expecting the weather to get better real soon. 3. The adjuster came out last week, looked at the damaged building, and will get information to us sometime. 4. Shawn Rhinehart is the temp president of provisional EAA chapter 1630 here at Green Castle. He’s soliciting current Green Castle members to become members of the new EAA chapter. NEW BUSINESS: 1. We’re still working on dates for this year’s events. 2. Thanks, Dean, for diagnosing the problem with the bad circuits in the kitchen/big hangar/meeting room.
