Jon is also a veterinarian The minutes of the July 22, 2020 Board of Directors meeting were read by Karo. Randy moved with second by Chris that the minutes be accepted as read. Vote taken; Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Treasurer's Report: Randy said “we’re sitting pretty solid”; got several advance payments, so the cash-flow is okay for now. 2. Airplanes: Rick said the 172s. the Arrow, and Chief are all flying. We haven’t received the $13,000 from the insurance company on the Ercoupe yet, so we haven’t been able to purchase the Ercoupe in Boone (but they’re received our $500 deposit, so it’s ours). As soon as we get the insurance pay-off, we’ll put that $13,000 with $7,000 an investor is making and we’ll go to Boone and pick up the new plane. 3. Several members took Tim up on the challenge to donate $100 for new mags on the Chief. Tim matched the donations, as he said he would. HOWEVER, we’re a little short for what it will take, so if anyone would still like to donate, please make your check payable to Green Castle Aero Club Foundation, Tim will match it, and we’ll get our new mags. NEW BUSINESS: 1. The door hinge on 4455 has a temporary fix (a nail) as the new piece hasn’t arrived yet. 2. REMINDER: PLEASE REMEMBER TO TURN ALL LIGHTS OFF WHEN LEAVING THE OFFICE, SHOP, OR HANGAR. THANK YOU!!! Randy moved with second by Chris that we adjourn. Vote taken; Motion carried. Treasurer's Report: Randy said we’re doing okay financially ... thanks to dues coming in. 2. Airplanes: Rick said the 172s. the Arrow, and Chief are all flying. The insurance company is going to total the Ercoupe; we’re looking into another one to take its place. Rick and Randy looked at a $20,000 Ercoupe that’s in Boone and they said it’s a great find. It does not have an ADS-B, but is real, real nice. 3. Scholarship student Emma Fritz said she has 4.1 hours up and really likes flying. 4. Several members took Tim up on the challenge to donate $100 for new mags on the Chief. Tim matched the donations, as he said he would. NEW BUSINESS: 1. MIKE MANGO GOT MARRIED ... OTHER BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Andy Orszula, Chris Lenz with Flynn, Randy Stannard, Dean Beranek and Jim Beeghly MEMBERS PRESENT: CFII Gary Lust, Grant Sanders, and Toby Chen The minutes of July 1, 2020 Board of Directors meeting were read by Randy. Jim moved with second by Andy that the minutes be accepted as read. Vote taken; Motion carried.. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Treasurer's Report: Randy says it is about as before. All bills are current. New dues bills went out on July 1 for the second half of the year and we have seen a few payments already so we expect cash flow to allow us to finish paying the bill for the Arrow’s annual, Chief annual, and the overhaul to 7717U within the next couple of weeks or so. 2. Rick reported on airplanes. The Arrow and both 172s are flying. The Chief came back from its annual last week and is also back online. The Arrow has a problem in the intercom we believe to be the extension cord plugs. We received a new set of cables today, so hopefully that will fix it. NEW BUSINESS: 1. There was a discussion about the Ercoupe found nearby and Rick and others looked at it today. It was determined that it would just be a larger project than he thinks the club is ready to handle at this time. We need to find a flying alternative, but he reports airplane prices are up significantly from recent years. 2. Tony called today from Heartland to bring up issues with a new Ercoupe. He also noted that they would sell their 150. Randy moved with second by Chris that we adjourn. Vote taken; Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:48 p.m. The meeting was called to order by President Rick Treiber at 6:34 p.m. OTHER BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Andy Orszula, Randy Stannard, Dean Beranek, Jim Beeghly, and Karo Stigler MEMBERS PRESENT: Bob Dunn, CFI Jeff White, Tim Scheer, Mike Mango, Brett Lenz, and Larry Fettkether The minutes of the June 24, 2020 Board of Directors meeting were read by Karo. Randy moved with second by Jim that the minutes be accepted as read. Vote taken; Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Treasurer's Report: Randy report all invoices for dues, etc. went out today. "We’re on the edge, are barely in the black with no money to spare; however, we’re solid ... for now." 2. Airplanes: Rick said both 172s are flying and the Chief’s still at Duke’s but will most likely be back this Friday or next Monday. If we want to put new mags on the Chief, Tim said he’ll match all donations toward the mags. So far, Randy, Jeff, Rick, Jim, Mike, and Karo each donated $100 which Tim will match. Rick said the Ercoupe will probably be totaled but he found an Ercoupe body for $7,000 that we can slap our engine in. It has fabric wings so it will still qualify as LSA. 3. REMINDER: Please remember to remove pitot covers before flying! NEW BUSINESS: 1 Mike said he was going to have a flyover on the 18th at his wedding reception; however, due to COVID, the reception has been cancelled but he’d like a couple of planes to fly over his home where the family will be gathered. Jim moved with second by Dean that we adjourn. Vote taken; Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m. |
