MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 28, 2018 BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
The meeting was called to order by President Rick Treiber at 6:32 p.m. OTHER BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Randy Stannard, Andy Orszula, and Chris Lenz. MEMBERS PRESENT: Don Nelson, Joe DeMaria, Jim Beeghly, Gary Beckman, and Brett Lenz (along with little Flynn) The Minutes of the November 14, 2018 Board of Directors meeting were not available and there was no meeting November 21 because of Thanksgivings, so we will read the November 14 minutes at the next meeting. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Treasurer's Report: Randy reported on our financial status. All bills are paid and the first installment on insurance is paid. 2. We now have insurance in place through AVEMCO for the new year. Thanks, Rick, for all the work you did to sign us up with our new insurance carrier. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Congratulations to Andy Orszula who passed his Private Pilot Checkride last Monday. Cheers for Andy!!! 2. Our annual Christmas/Year Ender and Birthday celebration for Don will be Saturday evening December 15 at the Garage Mahal as usual starting around 6:00 PM. Please all come and bring a dish or an hors d'oeuvre to share and your favorite beverage. Randy moved with second by we Chris that we adjourn. Vote taken; Motion carried. Randy moved with second by Chris that the minutes be approved as read. Vote taken; Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Treasurer's Report: Randy reported that nothing’s changed from last week. 2. Airplanes: All are up and flying. 3. Applause to Chris Lenz who organized the very successful Veterans Day, November 11, flyover; we had four planes up; people said it was really beautiful. Thanks go to pilots Chris, Shawn, Scott, and Joe for making us look good! 4. A crew is getting together this Saturday to get Richard Crouch’s Champ. NEW BUSINESS: 1. We ordered 1500 gallons of 100LL today. 2. Don said the plows are up and ready to go; we need to get a plow crew together. 3. Rick said we need to avoid flying over two miles east of Green Castle (on top of hill) as the FAA said a neighbor complained about our altitude ... which was 1700-1800 ft (well above required) Randy moved with second by Chris that we adjourn. The Minutes of the October 31, 2018 Board of Directors meeting were read by Karo. Randy moved with second by Chris that the minutes be approved corrected and read. Vote taken; Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Treasurer's Report: Randy reported the 150 has been sold and the money’s been received. Our bills are relatively current, members who loaned us money have been paid off (all but Don, whom we still owe a bit). We’re okay, but we still don’t know what the insurance bill will be. Rick talked to the carrier who’s getting quotes, but we don’t have an answer yet. 2. Tim reported all airplanes are up and flying. 17U is due for annual at the end of this month and will be scheduled to go to Bloomfield. 3. Applause to Chris Lenz who organized the very successful flyover; we had six planes up; 1400-foot ceilings; people said it was really cool. Thanks go to pilots Chris, Shawn, Randy, Dave, Scott, and Joe for making us look good! The Veterans Day flyover is being organized by Chris. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Richard Couch just bought a Champ and needs help removing the wings, loading it onto a trailer, and bring it to Green Castle. Several at the meeting are volunteering to help Richard. 2. Rick said the enclosed hangar has been rented to Mitch Sortland. Randy moved with second by Chris that we adjourn. Vote taken; Motion Carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m. |
